Tianjin boasts a long history and a rich heritage of folk handicrafts and traditional customs. This summer camp focuses on Tianjin’s intangible cultural heritage, covering renowned crafts such as Clay Figurines of Zhang, Yangliuqing New Year Paintings, Weifang Kites, and Traditional Crosstalk.

Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU), established in 1964, is a public institution located in Tianjin, China, specializing in foreign language education. As one of China’s eight foremost higher education institutions in this field, TFSU offers a diverse range of programs across seven disciplines: Literature, Economics, Management, Law, Education, Art, and Engineering.

The university provides instruction in 17 foreign languages, including English, Japanese, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, Korean, and Swahili. Notably, TFSU is among the few Chinese universities offering programs in less commonly taught languages such as Swahili.

Requirements

  • Either:
    1. In possession of a valid U.S. or Canadian passport that expires after August 1st, 2025, and a valid Chinese Visa
      or
    2. In possession of a valid U.S. or Canadian passport that expires after December 1st, 2025, and eligible to apply for a Chinese Visa
  • Ages 6-45
  • Register before the deadline of 04/30/2025
